The resort around it is being rebuilt at a scale it has never attempted before. The original layout is giving way to two entirely new championship courses — 36 holes of golf by spring 2027. The Ocean Course runs links-style along the Strait, fescue and bentgrass, six holes hard against the water. The Vineyard Course turns inland through the resort’s own vines and meadows. Carrick and McBroom, two of the most respected architects in Canadian golf, are collaborating for the first time here.
Golf is only part of the work. The Hydro Wellness Studio brought a full hydrothermal circuit — heat, cold, and rest in sequence — to the shore. The 37,000-square-foot Joyce Centre added room for gatherings. Wallace Stone, by Nova Scotia architect Brian MacKay-Lyons, set the architectural standard for what gets built here next. Around them: the deep-sea marina, the private 4,885-foot jetport, the estate vineyard, and the Cape Cliff Dining Room above the water.
That is what ownership at Ocean Course Estates connects to. Not a week booked in advance, but a standing place in the rhythm of the resort — a round before the fog lifts, an afternoon in the contrast circuit, a boat out of the harbour, dinner at Cape Cliff with the Strait going dark.
